History of T-Systems (Telecommunication Company)T-Systems is a worldwide operating ICT provider founded in October 2000. It is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG and its central office is located in Frankfurt. Within Deutsche Telekom, T-Systems is responsible for multinational corporations and public-sector institutions.

T-Systems serves companies in all industries – from the automotive industry to telecommunications, the financial sector, retail, services, media, energy and the manufacturing industry all the way to government agencies and the healthcare sector. Approximately 47,600 employees worldwide use their industry expertise and ICT know-how to provide top-quality service. T-Systems generated revenue of around EUR 9.1 billion in the 2010 financial year.

T-Systems operates in more than 20 countries (e.g. Germany, Slovakia, France, Spain, Italy, South Africa, India, etc.) and employs approx. 25,000 people in Germany, 1,150 in India, 1,600 in France, 3,000 in Spain and 45,300 worldwide (2010) (of which 12,000 make up its Systems Integration unit). In 2010, T-Systems is expanding in other countries, expecting to hire an additional 2,000 employees there.

Since December 2007 Reinhard Clemens is the CEO. Before that he was president of EDS Germany since 2003.

T-Systems provides IT and telecommunication services for business clients such as WestLB bank, Daimler, Volkswagen, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Centrica, Philips, MAN SE and Airbus.

In alignment with its new strategic direction, Deutsche Telekom relaunched T-Systems as the brand for all the Group’s business customers in early 2005.
